Roper Gulf Regional Council (RGRC) provides a range of services over an area that spans 185,000 sq km (80% the size of Victoria) that covers the region east and southeast of Katherine, Northern Territory. The total estimated resident population of the region is 6,919.

Roper Gulf Regional Council (RGRC) now has a fantastic, newly created opportunity for a Regional NDIS/ILC Coordinator to join their team on a full-time, contract basis till 30th June 2019. This role will be based in Katherine, Northern Territory.
Reporting to the Regional Manager Community Services, your primary responsibility will be to manage, coordinate and oversee NDIS service delivery in Katherine and the surrounding communities, with a specific focus on ILC, in line with the ILC National Readiness Guidelines. This will include improving service delivery and remote staff capacity, as well as implementing and managing a financially sustainable service delivery model for NDIS programs, to ensure contractual compliance and quality outcomes on community for all stakeholders. To be considered for this position you must have a background in health services, aged care or similar, with specific experience in the disability sector, or similar service delivery programs. Candidates with experience in Local Government and knowledge of the Local Government Act and/or NDIS experience, will be highly regarded, as will candidates who live locally in the Katherine region.
The geography of the region poses many challenges to equitable distribution of services. As such, Council is looking for someone who can ensure care recipients have access to a consistent level of care, attention and opportunities which build capacity, exercise their potential to enjoy fulfilling and meaningful activities which contribute to quality of life.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be non-judgmental, fair, patient, have a willingness to listen, and display empathy. Candidates with an awareness of issues affecting Indigenous communities in remote locations will be best suited to this position, equipping you with the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with Indigenous people.
Please note: A current 'C' class driver's licence and a Working with Children Clearance Notice (OCHRE Card) are essential to be considered for this position. You will also be required to undertake a criminal history check and update each year as required. Please note, some out of hours work, including occasional travel to remote communities requiring overnight stays will be required.
